Veniero's Pasticceria & Caffe
About This Spot
Stepping into Veniero's Pasticceria & Caffe is like slipping back into a warm, timeless corner of New York City’s East Village. The moment you cross the threshold at 342 E 11th Street, the buzz of the city softens, replaced by the gentle hum of an old-school bakery where glass cases brim with colorful pastries and familiar aromas wrap around you like a comforting embrace. It’s a place that invites you to linger — the atmosphere measured and unhurried, a nod to generations of sweet moments shared here.
The space retains a classic, slightly worn charm that speaks to its long history, making it feel more like a cherished neighborhood spot than a modern café. Whether you’re seeking a quick pause during a day of wandering or a treat to savor slowly over coffee, Veniero’s welcomes you with a genuine, unpretentious warmth. The staff’s attentive yet unobtrusive service only adds to the easygoing pace, where each visitor can feel like a regular no matter their first visit or thousandth.
Here, desserts aren’t just about flavor but about stories and traditions. The menu carries the kind of variety that encourages exploration — a mix of miniature cakes, fruit tarts, and cannoli that allow for a little sampling adventure without the need to commit to just one favorite. The inviting display nudges you to build your own small box of delicate, freshly made pastries, each bite echoing the bakery’s heritage and care.
Beyond the tangible sweets, Veniero’s offers a moment of calm in a lively neighborhood, where the past and present mingle effortlessly. It’s the kind of place where locals come to mark everyday celebrations and visitors find a genuine taste of the city’s enduring culinary spirit. Sitting here with a coffee and a carefully chosen slice, you become part of something quietly communal — a shared appreciation for the simple joy of a well-loved bakery.

TL;DR: Classic East Village bakery with tons of variety priced by weight. Great to grab a mixed box after dinner. Consistent quality and fair prices. I go every trip. Veniero’s is my go to pastry stop in NYC. You can mix and match minis instead of committing to one big cannoli. I like the fruit tarts, the chocolate chip dome, and the small layered cakes. Everything has been fresh and not overly sweet. The vibe is old school New York with long glass cases and a steady crowd. It gets busy at night, but the line moves. Prices feel fair for the quality. Pro tip: build a small box so you can taste a few different things. Easy walk-over stop after drinks or dinner, and you can usually eat outside if it is not packed. Staple spot.

I loved everything about this place. The atmosphere is warm and cozy. The inside is a classic, old school bakery. I really enjoyed taking a break here from walking around the area. Coffee was good and the desserts/pastries were woow. Highly recommend!!

Veniero’s Pasticcereria & Caffe-Dazzling array of desserts. Sit down service as well. Plan ahead. Do some recon by reviewing the menu before arriving. They serve individual pieces or an entire cake. Fantastic Pistachio Cannoli. But really just about all of their offerings are delicious. Must visit if in the area.

Venerios has always been our go to bakery for many years and it never disappoints. Their baked goods from cookies to cakes are absolutely delicious and amazing. Today, Emma assisted us and was so attentive and kind. Thank you so much for your hospitality. And if you spend more than $30, you get a complimentary calendar. Have a wonderful holiday.

This place was awesome. Just what you would expect from the oldest Italian bakery in NYC. Everything was delicious and amazing. The service was polite and the atmosphere so authentic and classic. It was our first time so we went with the mini pastries in the smaller box just to try everything. Really enjoyed the experience and the pastries. Will definitely be back here.

Italian place that serves lots of different cakes and pastries. We had american cream cheese cake, red velvet, cannoli and some drinks. The cakes were absolutely amazing, and my espresso martini was also great. The classic italian decor really added to the whole experience.
